Is Tyron Smith Returning To The Cowboys?

The Dallas Cowboys community has been buzzing with speculation about Tyron Smith’s future, but recent reports clarify that the veteran offensive lineman is not contemplating retirement.

Despite uncertainties about which team he’ll play for, Smith is determined to continue his career in the NFL.

Future With The Cowboys?

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the 33-year-old Smith has made his decision to stay in the game clear.

Clarence Hill, a reporter for the publication, shared insights from a conversation with Smith’s agent, stating, “I don’t know (if Smith is returning to the Cowboys) but I talked to Tyron’s agent and Tyron is not retiring. So he will play here or somewhere else next year.”

McCarthy's Praise for Smith

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy also spoke highly of Smith, particularly praising his performance and preparation in the recent season.

McCarthy noted, “I think the biggest thing for Tyron is … the training plan that was in place for him. This is clearly his best season that I’ve experienced with him since 2020. So, he felt really good about that.”

As discussions about Smith’s future continue, the primary consideration now is whether he and the Cowboys can reach an agreement that suits both parties, given his preference to stay with the team if possible.

This situation underscores the complexities athletes face as they navigate their careers, balancing personal desires with professional opportunities.
